Mit den 14 Songs zeigen sich VENEREA stark wie nie zuvor: wuchtiger Melodic Hardcore, halsbrecherische Riff s, Hochgeschwindigkeitsschlagzeug und energischer Backgroundgesang, der STRIKE ANYWHERE oder STRUNG OUT ebenso gut zu Gesicht stehen würde. Thematisch stellt die Band unmissverständlich klar, dass sie mit Nationalismus, Grenzen und dem politischen Status Quo nichts am Hut hat und beruft sich auf die Stärke einer kritischen subkulturellen Szene mit starkem politischem Bewusstsein. Dabei wird die musikalische Skatepunk-Formel ein weiteres Mal fortentwickelt, raffinierte (Twin-) Leadgitarren, Midtempo- Atmosphäre wie bei “Raising My Game”, ein bedrückendes Kirchenorgel-Intro (“Now You’re Gone”) oder fast schon metallische Gesangsparaden (“Enemies Of The Alliance”) sorgen dafür, dass kein Moment der Langeweile aufkommt. “Last Call For Adderall” zeigt exemplarisch, warum VENEREA zu recht zu den ganz großen europäischen Bands des Genres gehören! Mit absoluter Effizienz haben Frank Schophaus (Drums), David Frings (Bass, Gesang) und Chris Hell (Gitarre, Gesang) in weniger als einem Jahr das vierte Album geschrieben, das mehr denn je die Extreme transportiert, für die das Trio aus Aachen seit 2012 steht: "Die Musik war zu wichtig. "Es gibt Leute hier, die sehen die Fehler der Vergangenheit nicht mehr als Mahnmal", meint Frings, "Politik ist für uns Menschlichkeit plus Empathie. Der Wunsch, dass wir alle besser miteinander leben können. Nur mit dem Finger auf die Leute zeigen, die das anders sehen, reicht nicht mehr. Wir müssen diskutieren und uns öffentlich zeigen." Smash is the third studio album by American rock band the Offspring, released on April 5, 1994, by Epitaph Records.
